A different voice

I had one of those moments that could be categorised as “very strange” first thing this morning.  Just as I was getting out of bed, I heard a man’s voice, like a snippet of radio commentary.  The voice said “Lewis Hamilton in third place”.

Odd, thought I.  I did have a fleeting thought about putting a bet on him to take third place in the French Grand Prix then forgot all about it.

F1 doesn’t interest me anywhere near as much as football, but at least this season the arrival of Hamilton has added some spice to a sport that had become boring and predictable during the reign of Michael Schumacher.  It therefore wasn’t something that I would have spent a lot of time thinking and conjecturing about.

Sunday morning and lunchtime were spent doing pretty mundane stuff and when I came home, there was F1 on the TV.  The two Ferraris were leading and Hamilton was currently lying third, although trying to press forward to catch up with Raikkonen and Massa.

In the event, he didn’t catch either of them and was placed…… third.

More evidence? It wasn’t Fred’s voice this time, but the voice of a sports commentator.  But whatever I heard was correct.

I might be tempted to wander off the to the bookies’ with a ten-pound note next time!
